About the role:
The recent development and approval of new vaccines and monoclonal antibodies against RSV mark an exceptionally exciting moment in the fight to prevent this significant respiratory disease. As part of the Health Protection Research Unit in Respiratory Infections in association with UKHSA, this post will explore the evolution of RSV under selective pressure from antibody and vaccines.
What you would be doing:
You will be working as part of a team studying how RSV adapts to selective pressure from antibodies and vaccines. You will be modelling antibody-antigen interactions and exploring how this changes. You will also be developing assays for better recovery of clinical viruses and looking at the related virus hMPV.
What we are looking for:
Experience in virology, particularly of respiratory viruses Experience in antibody-viral interactions Experience of tissue culture models

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years. This role is based at the South Kensington Campus.
The post is funded by the NIHR as part of the HPRU in respiratory infections to investigate RSV evolution under the pressure of vaccines and antibodies
