Job summary
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint an enthusiastic locum consultant in medical oncology (breast) to join our multidisciplinary teams for four sessions (16 hours) per week in a substantive role.
The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary team consultants across Medical Oncology, clinical fellows, a specialist registrar, nurse clinicians, a pharmacist, clinical nurse specialists, research nurses, project managers and clinical trial administrators.
The role will involve two clinics per week and attendance at the Wednesday MDT. Suitable SPA and admin time is provided.
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities of the role, which may be adjusted in the light of changing/developing priorities, include:o Attendance and review of patients in the weekly breast Medical Oncology clinics. This will include new and follow up patients, on treatment. o Completion of patient administration taskso Completion of and maintenance of Good Clinical Practice Certification (regulatory requirement for clinical trial participation, if appropriate).o Become familiar with ongoing clinical trials, as appropriate (for context when seeing outpatients in clinic).o Maintaining knowledge of local, national and international developments in diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer through attendance at conferences, as appropriate.
