About this role

The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at the University of York is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Fellow/Reader in health economics on a full-time open contract (part-time applications will also be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE) to work within the Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment team. The Senior Research Fellow/Reader will contribute a proportion of their time to our programme of technology assessment for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

The successful candidate will have a research profile focused on health technology assessment and economic evaluation, a strong quantitative background and extensive experience in methods research.

CHE is one of the world’s most prominent academic health economics research centres. For over forty years it has been committed to the development and application of economics to promote health and wellbeing through the effective, efficient, and equitable use of scarce resources. We are a community of over 100 research staff, support staff, and PhD students. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed

PhD or equivalent research experience in economics applied to health or closely related quantitative subject. Experience of delivering sustained research output of high quality with evidence of impact and esteem. Proven experience of attracting and obtaining significant external research funding. Expert knowledge and understanding of economic evaluation and health technology assessment. Experience of building and leading successful research teams.
