About this role

We’re looking for a System Design Engineer to join our team in Derby working on a high-profile defence project, contributing to the design of safety-critical control systems in line with aerospace standards. Location: Derby On Site: 1-2x weekClearance: Not required Experience Level: Junior - Mid Level/senior Key Responsibilities:

Support Preliminary & Critical Design ReviewsReview and validate design changes and software high-level requirementsDevelop control system requirements for airborne applicationsConduct FMEA/FMECA and safety analysisApply ARP4754, DO-178B/C and DO-254 guidance in a regulated environmentRepresent systems engineering in cross-functional reviews Required Skills:

Background in product development within a safety-critical environmentExposure to EASA/FAA certification processes is a plusPrevious work on gas turbine engines or propulsion systems is desirableRequired Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:

Comfortable writing and reviewing system/software requirementsSkilled in root cause analysis, lifecycle impact, and change validationExperience with model-based systems and digital engineering toolsetsAbility to collaborate and communicate clearly across teamsKnowledge of safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FMECA) Why join us?
