Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Electronics Design Engineer and take a leading role in the development of complex embedded and hardware systems for high-integrity defence programmes. You will work on challenging, long-lifecycle projects, focusing on critical electronic designs, simulation, and integration within marine defence environments. Your expertise will drive the full development lifecycle—from schematic capture to system validation—ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-performance solutions.

Location: Glasgow

On-site: 3 days per week

Seniority: Senior (5+ years of experience)

Clearance: SC clearable (no caveats)

Key Responsibilities

Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for embedded and hardware systems.Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.Simulate circuits using LTspice for performance and compliance analysis.Integrate Microchip microcontrollers and support FPGA-based solutions.Validate and debug boards at prototype and system level, including EMC testing.Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and layout engineers to ensure seamless integration.Support structured documentation and peer reviews for high-integrity designs. Required Skills

8+ years of experience in electronics design or embedded hardware engineering.Proficiency in Altium Designer and LTspice.Experience with Microchip microcontrollers and FPGA development.Background in high-integrity environments (defence, aerospace, or marine).Understanding of mission-critical hardware development standards.Soft Skills & Collaboration

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in regulated, high-stakes environments.Proactive approach to quality and compliance.Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience.Must be eligible for or already hold UK Security Clearance (SC)Desirable Skills

Experience with EMC/EMI compliance testing.Knowledge of defence or marine industry standards.Familiarity with system integration and validation processes. Why join us?
