About this role

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep experience in AWS, Redshift, and PostgreSQL to design high-performance data systems at scale. This is a senior, hands-on role for an engineer who can write efficient code, move fast with discipline, and apply judgment grounded in both technical experience and business context.

You'll lead the architecture and delivery of data pipelines, model-ready datasets, and distributed processing frameworks. You'll use AI responsibly to accelerate development while maintaining quality and reliability. As a senior member of the team, you'll set standards for engineering excellence, mentor junior engineers, and help shape how we use data and AI to create outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Design and own full-lifecycle data pipelines, from ingestion through transformation and delivery, using custom AWS-based ETL in Redshift (PostgreSQL) and Python.Develop distributed data processing that can scale across large datasets.Improve production SQL for performance, scalability and data accuracy.Automate workflows using orchestration platforms such as Airflow and Control-M.Design scalable data models to capture sequential, time-dependent, and event-driven customer journey data.Apply version control best practices using Git, including branching, code reviews, CI/CD integration, and deployment standards.Use AI and machine-assisted development responsibly to enhance productivity and quality without compromising maintainability.Collaborate to translate our needs into, automated data solutions that provide measurable impact.Evaluate and integrate AWS data services and tools to improve performance and cost-effectiveness.Guide junior engineers, demonstrating sound engineering habits and high-quality work.

5+ years developing and optimizing complex SQL (Redshift or PostgreSQL).2+ years of professional Python development for ETL, automation, or data engineering.Direct experience with distributed and parallelized data processing frameworks and big data scalability.Understanding of the AWS ecosystem, including S3, Glue, Lambda, EC2, and SageMaker.Command of Git best practices: branching strategy, peer review, CI/CD integration, and release management.Experience producing efficient, maintainable, and reliable production code.
