About The Role
The Soft Goods Product Developer is a full-time position based in Vietnam that reports into the Manager, Soft Goods Development in Denver, US. A Soft Goods Product Developer at YETI is responsible for successfully driving the development of projects from concept through production readiness. You will work with a highly skilled Industrial Design Team and will partner closely with our Soft Goods Material Developers, Category Management Team as well as our factory partners to create products that are uniquely YETI!
What You’ll Do
• Partner with the YETI Design and Category Management teams to understand the vision and direction for each product. • Collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to advance products from prototype through successful mass production. • Work with Project Managers to understand project timelines and consistently meet milestones and deliverables. • Troubleshoot the design, material, and trim details required to execute the intended design. • Partner with Designers to develop and communicate technical drawing packages to our manufacturing partners. • Lead the sampling process to ensure design intent is accurately executed, optimizing construction techniques and patterns for DFM through clear communication and frequent on-site engagement with Tier 1 suppliers. • Collaborate closely with YETI Manufacturing Engineering to ensure a smooth transition from sampling into production. • Work closely with Product Quality to ensure all assigned projects meet the demanding standards of every YETI product. • Partner with the Validation Engineering team to conduct finished-goods testing with internal and external labs, qualifying new designs for production release. • Partner closely with internal YETI Materials Developers to effectively develop new materials, trims, and hardware.
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or relevant experience • Greater than 5 years experience in product development preferably in accessories, bags, or apparel. • Experience working with soft goods vendors (sample rooms, finished goods factories, fabric weavers, fabric coatings factories, etc.) to commercialize new products. • Proficiency in building soft goods drawing packages such as tech. packs and sample requests. • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
