About this role
Carolina Waste is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Scale House Attendant to join our team in N. Charleston, SC. Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry is a strong plus but not required for the right candidate.
This role is a critical first point of contact for our customers and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers • Operate truck scales (weighing vehicles in and out accurately) • Maintain and update customer account and transaction information • Set up new customer accounts in the system • Run daily and monthly operational reports and input data into Excel spreadsheets • Generate, review, and process customer invoices • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and site staff • Perform administrative tasks while working independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications & Requirements
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel • Solid communication and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively • Flexible availability, including weekends • Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and office equipment for prolonged periods. Ability to work in an environment that may include dust and noise.
