Job Description:
About the Role Vitalant is seeking a Medical Assistant to play a vital role in supporting patient care at our Hemophilia Center of Western PA. This position is responsible for assisting clinical staff, supporting patient visits, and ensuring a positive and efficient experience for patients with bleeding disorders.
The ideal candidate has blood collection and blood specimen processing experience and is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Medical Assistant Hemophilia Center of Western PA in Oakland (FREE ONSITE PARKING!) Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Oakland neighborhood) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Starting Pay: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
• Support patient care by assisting providers during clinic visits • Prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining and documenting vital signs • Assist with patient intake, documentation, and medical record updates • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records • Prepare, label, and handle specimens in accordance with established procedures • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient care • Maintain clinical supplies and assist with inventory management • Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations • Support clinic workflow and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Education:
• High school diploma or GED required • Medical Assistant certification preferred Experience:
• Minimum of one-year recent work experience in a physician's office or direct patient care clinical setting is required. • Experience with specimen collection and specimen processing required. • Experience working with patients in a fast-paced environment preferred. • Phlebotomy experience highly preferred. Skills & Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting • Basic knowledge of medical terminology • Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems
