About this role
Delivery Driver – Independent Contractor Opportunity
About Zulzi
Zulzi is a fast-growing on-demand delivery company that makes shopping more convenient by delivering groceries and other eligible products directly to customers’ doors.
We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious and customer-focused drivers to join the Zulzi driver network.
Opportunity Summary
As a Zulzi Delivery Driver, you will collect customer orders from assigned stores and deliver them safely, accurately and on time.
Drivers represent Zulzi when interacting with customers, store employees and members of the public. A professional attitude, responsible driving and excellent customer service are therefore essential.
Key Responsibilities
Order Collection and Delivery
• Collect assigned orders from the correct Zulzi store or collection point.
• Confirm the order number, customer details and number of parcels before leaving the store.
• Deliver orders safely, accurately and within the required delivery time.
• Update every delivery stage correctly on the Zulzi Driver App.
• Obtain and submit the required proof of delivery.
• Never open, tamper with or remove items from a customer’s order.
Product Care
• Handle groceries, food, beverages and other products carefully.
• Keep hot, cold, frozen, fragile and liquid products secure during transportation.
• Ensure that orders are protected against contamination, rain, breakage, theft and avoidable damage.
• Immediately report damaged, leaking, missing or incorrectly packed items.
Customer Service
• Treat customers, store employees and Zulzi team members respectfully.
• Communicate professionally when providing delivery updates or requesting directions.
• Protect customers’ personal information, including their names, addresses and contact details.
• Never use customer information for any reason unrelated to completing the delivery.
Cash and Restricted Products
• Handle cash-on-delivery orders carefully and reconcile all money in accordance with Zulzi’s cash-handling procedures.
• Follow all identification, age-verification and handover requirements when delivering age-restricted or controlled products.
• Never hand an age-restricted product to an unauthorised or underage recipient.
Vehicle, Safety and Hygiene
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean, mechanically sound and suitable for deliveries.
• Obey all traffic laws and practise safe driving at all times.
• Use the required safety equipment, including a phone mount and appropriate protective equipment.
• Maintain good personal hygiene and a clean, professional appearance while completing deliveries.
• Motorbike drivers must wear the required helmet and reflective clothing while operating.

• Public holidays;
• Early-morning, afternoon or evening shifts;
• Peak trading and month-end periods.
The final wording here must match Zulzi’s actual independent-contractor operating model and scheduling requirements.
Interview Appearance and Hygiene Standards
Because drivers handle customer orders and interact directly with customers, all applicants must arrive:
• Clean and appropriately dressed;
• With clean hands and fingernails;
• Wearing closed shoes;
• Without visibly dirty or unsafe clothing;
• With their required documents and vehicle in a presentable condition.
Applicants who do not meet the required hygiene, safety or presentation standard may not proceed with the interview or vehicle inspection on that day. Assessments should be based on a consistent checklist applied fairly to every applicant.
