About the Role Total Rehab Kids is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing therapy team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients improve their daily living skills, functional independence, and overall quality of life.
This is a hands-on clinical position where you’ll implement treatment plans, guide therapeutic activities, and support patients in regaining independence. You’ll play a key role in motivating patients, documenting progress, and collaborating with families and the care team to ensure the best outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Active state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in an outpatient, pediatric, or rehabilitation setting.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Lead therapeutic activities and exercises to improve physical, sensory, and cognitive function.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising OT.
• Educate and support patients and families on therapeutic strategies to promote independence at home.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive therapy environment.
