We are seeking an energetic and professional Yoga Instructor who is a reliable team player, passionate about motivating and educating residents while promoting overall health and well-being.
This position requires consistent availability to teach a weekly class on Tuesday at 8:30 AM. Additional weekday/weekend availability within the Fitness Center’s hours of operation (early morning to evening) is preferred, with opportunities to expand with the addition of more classes.
Job Description:
• Lead yoga classes for individuals and groups, providing guidance and instruction on proper yoga techniques and postures.
• Demonstrate and assist participants in modifying poses to accommodate different skill levels or physical limitations; providing hands on adjustments and corrections with consent to ensure proper alignment during class.
• Develop positive relationships with class participants through motivational instruction and education.
• Provide participants with regular feedback and accountability on their progress to maintain motivation.
• Clean and organize the group fitness space being utilized before and after each class, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
• As needed, secure substitute instructors to cover regularly scheduled classes or classes agreed to sub.
• Maintain a record of classes taught or subbed, including attendance numbers.
• Represent the Fitness Center in a professional manner, greeting residents as they enter and leave and be a motivational resource to all residents.
• Ensure a consistent, direct line of communication with the Management Team for all needs, requests, and professional expectations.
• Maintain all current and correct certifications.
• In the event of an emergency, perform CPR and/or First Aid.
Qualifications:
• Yoga Teacher Training Certification
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safe exercise technique and principles, professional understanding of human anatomy and kinesiology.
• Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies, the incorporation of music, tempo, and cueing technique.
• Ability to effectively demonstrate skills being taught to clients and modify movements to all fitness levels.
• Ability to be self-sufficient in handling job responsibilities
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual
• Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude.
