Freelance Video Editor (Creator & Short-Form Focus)
Location: Mexico City (Remote within Mexico City) Contract: Freelance to start, with potential for permanent role Languages: Fluent English & Spanish (written and spoken)
About the Role
We’re looking for a creator-focused video editor based in Mexico City to support a roster of high-profile content creators. This role is focused on transforming long-form content (YouTube, Twitch, podcasts, streams) into high-performing short-form video optimised for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram (Reels), Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube Shorts, and others.
You’ll typically work across 4–5 creators at a time, helping to build their reach, brand, and audience across social platforms beyond their primary channel. This is a freelance contract to start, with the opportunity to become a full-time permanent role based on performance and output.
Key Responsibilities
• Edit long-form creator content (YouTube videos, Twitch streams, VODs, podcasts) into engaging short-form clips
• Optimise content specifically for:
• TikTok
• Instagram Reels / Meta platforms
• Snapchat
• YouTube Shorts and emerging platforms
• Receive briefs from the wider team and translate them into platform-native edits
• Select compelling moments, hooks, and narratives that drive retention and views
• Frame and crop footage correctly for vertical and platform-specific formats
• Add subtitles/captions (manual + AI-assisted workflows) Ensure content aligns with each creator’s tone, personality, and brand image Collaborate with producers, social strategists, and other editors
• Take joint ownership of content output quality, volume, and consistency Help grow creator viewership, discoverability, and brand presence across platforms

Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience editing short-form content for creators or brands
• Strong understanding of social platforms and what performs on each
• Fluent in English and Spanish (essential)
• Confident in subtitling and captioning content
• Excellent framing, pacing, and storytelling skills
• Proficient in video editing software such as:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• Final Cut Pro
• DaVinci Resolve
• Comfortable using AI and automation tools for subtitling and workflow efficiency
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to manage multiple creators and briefs at once
Nice to Have
• Experience working with streaming, or creator-led content
• Knowledge of Twitch culture, YouTube creator ecosystems, or influencer marketing
• Motion graphics or light animation skills
• Experience working with agencies or creator management teams
