About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead all housekeeping, laundry, and public area operations for a well-established luxury hospitality property. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for maintaining exceptional guest experiences, developing a large team, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing large housekeeping teams within luxury hotel environments and thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused setting.
Responsibilities
• Lead all housekeeping, laundry, and public area operations across the property
• Manage staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management for a team of 100+ employees
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry facilities to ensure quality and brand standards are consistently met
• Oversee departmental budgets, labor management, inventory control, and supply purchasing
• Partner with Engineering and other departments to resolve maintenance issues and improve operational efficiency
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery situations with professionalism and urgency
• Lead daily operational meetings and communicate priorities to management and staff
• Drive employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, chemical handling procedures, and workplace standards
• Support special projects, operational improvements, and facility upgrades as needed
Qualifications
• 5+ years of housekeeping leadership experience within a luxury hotel environment
• Experience managing teams of 100+ employees
• Strong background overseeing both housekeeping and laundry operations
• Proven experience with budgeting, labor management, scheduling, and inventory control
• Strong guest service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience conducting room inspections and maintaining luxury service standards
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and cleaning best practices
• Experience working with hotel PMS systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to lead large teams while maintaining a positive, service-focused culture
Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual Spanish
• Experience leading diverse workforces
• Luxury resort or historic hotel experience
• Experience managing large-volume hospitality operations
