Part-Time Payroll Officer Office Based | Monday to Friday | 11:00am – 4:00pm Pay Rate: $38.50 – $39.53 per hour + superannuation Classification: SCHADS Award — Social and Community Services Stream, Level 2
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Officer to support payroll administration within a busy disability and community services provider.
This role would suit someone who is confident working with high-volume timesheets, understands the importance of payroll accuracy, and can communicate professionally with staff and managers.
About the Role
As our Payroll Officer, you will assist with reviewing, checking and preparing payroll information to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time.
You will need experience working with 250+ timesheets, strong system confidence, and the ability to manage payroll-related emails and phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
Experience using Employment Hero is required. Knowledge of the SCHADS Award will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and check high-volume timesheets.
• Identify missing information, incorrect entries, allowance issues and discrepancies.
• Follow up with staff and managers regarding timesheet issues.
• Assist with payroll preparation and payroll administration.
• Monitor and respond to payroll-related emails and phone calls.
• Support accurate record keeping and payroll documentation.
• Work closely with rostering, operations and management teams.
• Assist with Employment Hero payroll processes.
• Escalate complex SCHADS, allowance or payroll interpretation issues where required.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
• Previous payroll experience, ideally in disability, aged care, health, community services or another high-volume workforce environment.
• Experience reviewing and checking 250+ timesheets.
• Experience using Employment Hero.
• SCHADS Award knowledge preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage payroll-related phone calls and emails professionally.
• Strong time management and ability to meet payroll deadlines.
• Confidence following up discrepancies with staff and managers.
• A professional and confidential approach to employee information.
