About this role
The Student Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering academic success, personal development, and overall well-being for students within the College of Education. This position serves as a key point of contact for undergraduate and graduate students, providing guidance, support services, and coordination of resources to ensure a positive and successful academic experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one support and case management for students experiencing academic, personal, or financial challenges.
• Serve as a referral liaison to campus resources including counseling, disability services, financial aid, and career services.
• Support students in navigating academic policies, procedures, and appeals (e.g., withdrawal, leave of absence, grievance processes).
• Participate in student success initiatives, including orientation programs, peer mentoring, academic support workshops and curriculum lab office hours.
• Coordinate retention efforts and monitor student progress in collaboration with faculty and academic advisors.
• Maintain and manage communication with students through newsletters, targeted outreach, and event promotion.
• Track student engagement and retention data; prepare reports to inform decision-making.
• Serve on college- and university-level committees related to student support, wellness, and success.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to develop proactive strategies for student retention and achievement.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in student services, advising, or higher education support roles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
