Job summary
We are seeking a motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent with experience in neurodevelopmental services to support our autism assessment pathway. You will conduct pre-assessment screenings, gather developmental histories, and assist in the administration of assessment tools such as ADI-R.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structured pre-screening assessments and collect developmental history. Administer elements of standardised tools (ADI-R, ADOS-2, GADS-2, CAT-Q) under supervision. Liaise with patients and families throughout the diagnostic process. Assist in writing clinical summaries and collating evidence for MDT review. Support psychiatrists and psychologists in case formulation. Provide psychoeducation and ongoing aftercare support post-diagnosis. Ensure documentation and governance compliance across all cases.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NMC registration (RMN, RNLD, or equivalent). Previous experience in autism or mental health services.
Desirable
ADOS-2 training desirable (training can be provided). Excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills. Understanding of NICE autism guidelines and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
