About this role
Viwinco is a window and door manufacturer based in Morgantown, PA. Behind every order we ship is a sophisticated product configuration system that translates customer selections into precise manufacturing outputs — BOMs, machine files, production reports, and more. We're looking for the person who wants to own that system and make it better every day.
As our Manufacturing Systems Engineer – Product Configuration, you'll be the architect of how our products live inside our ERP/MRP environment. You'll configure the rules, build the logic, and make sure that when a customer orders a triple-pane casement window with a specific grille pattern, the system knows exactly what to build and how to build it.
You'll sit at the intersection of Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and Customer Service — which means your work touches virtually everything we make.
What You'll Actually Do
Product Configuration & ERP:
• Maintain and configure product models, options, and logic within our ERP/MRP system
• Build configuration rules that control option availability, dependencies, and conditional behavior
• Support product launches and engineering changes by getting the system updated and tested before go-live
BOM Architecture:
• Create and maintain BOM skeletons — parent assemblies, nested subassemblies, the whole family tree
• Configure BOM logic using formulas, option conditions, and table references
• Validate BOM outputs through testing before anything touches production
Data & Table Management:
• Maintain manufacturing data tables that drive item IDs, fabrication programs, and system outputs
• Keep pricing tables, component data, and configuration attributes accurate and current
Testing & Collaboration:
• Write and execute test plans for every system change — no surprises in production
• Troubleshoot ERP configuration issues affecting order entry or manufacturing operations
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and Customer Service on system improvements
• Maintain clear documentation of system logic, configuration standards, and change history
What You Bring
• 2+ years of experience with ERP, MRP, or manufacturing systems in a production environment
• Strong understanding of BOM structures and product configuration systems
• Experience with manufacturing data tables, configuration rules, or system formulas
• Sharp analytical and troubleshooting skills — you find the root cause, not just the symptom
• Strong organizational skills and documentation habits
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and system changes without dropping anything
• Comfortable communicating across both technical and non-technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
Why You'll Love It Here
• Your work has real, visible impact — every order processed runs through what you build
• A cross-functional role that keeps things interesting — no two days are the same
• Stable, growing manufacturer with a collaborative team culture
