About this role
Under the general supervision of the technologist in charge, prepares tissue specimens by treating with chemicals, embeds sections and stains slides from clinical and research according to standardized department lab procedures for an optimal microscopic examination and analysis. Monitors and maintains related equipment and supplies; and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of a CAHEA-accredited histotechnology program; with an Associate’s degree plus one year of full time experience in histopathology within the last three years under the supervision of a pathologist or 3 years of recent histology laboratory experience ASCP certification as a histologic technician or eligible for certification
