Steward Job Responsibilities and Duties
• Works closely with Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining the sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen
• Scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses, washing dirty dishes and putting them back in their appropriate areas
• Assisting with sweeping, mopping and polishing the restaurant, bar, kitchen and equipment
• Stocking wait staff stations with napkins, utensils, trays and condiments, and assisting the wait staff with all aspects of service
• Ability to follow all sanitation guidelines and guidelines for safe handling of food
• Help maintain an orderly, clean kitchen, eating and service areas, storage and cooler/freezer facilities, including condiment, soup, salad, pizza stations and the dish drop off area
• Assist with opening and closing tasks as required
• Assists Executive Chef or Chef on Duty with whatever is required
Steward Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• A friendly, polite, and courteous nature
• Strong customer service and team player skills
• Must be current with Food Handlers' certification
• Works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Great communication and coordination skills
• Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet
