About this role
Performs responsible work for the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department working with the general public, assisting the recreation staff at events, programs, and concerts, assisting with the maintenance and safety of parks and/or community center, and other related activities as required. Work is performed under the daily supervision of and reports to the Special Events Supervisor or Special Events Assistant, and is evaluated through observation and inspection to determine the thoroughness in carrying out assigned duties. Position usually works one event per month, but could be up to three. Hours may vary depending on event (days and evenings). Position average 6-10 hours per month, with a possibility of more during Matthews Alive Festival and the month of December.
