About this role

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections at site and branch locations; audit the effectiveness of Health & Safety systems, identify gaps, and recommend solutions

• Lead workplace accident and injury investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions

• Support Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) through coaching, training, and communication of corporate procedures

• Maintain and analyze Health & Safety statistics to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions

• Manage regional Health & Safety training programs, including delivery, coordination, and compliance tracking

• Develop and distribute safety communications, including incident summaries and lessons learned

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation, including Québec (CNESST / LSST) and Atlantic Canada requirements

• ASP Construction certification (required for Québec)

• CoSS certification where applicable based on project size and CNESST regulations

• CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation preferred

• COR (Certificate of Recognition) program experience considered an asset, particularly for Nova Scotia

• Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and claims management

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and support safety initiatives across multiple locations

• Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and writing skills

• Bilingual (French and English) required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP experience is an asset

• Familiarity with safety prequalification platforms such as Cognibox, ISNetworld, and Browz is an asset

• Working knowledge of safety programs including Lockout-Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and Electrical Safety / Arc Flash

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within Québec and Atlantic provinces

Education (Preferred)

• Diploma (DEC) in Environmental, Health & Safety or related field

OR

• University certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
