Key Responsibilities:
1. Mobile Equipment Maintenance
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and major repairs on a diverse fleet of diesel and electric equipment (e.g., forklifts, underground diesel units).
• Troubleshoot and repair engine, hydraulic, transmission, and braking systems.
• Utilize diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical failures.
2. Material Handling & Infrastructure Repair
• Inspect and service a wide variety of conveyance systems, including belt, chain, screw auger, and drag chain conveyors.
• Maintain and repair specialized equipment such as bucket elevators (chain and belt), primary/secondary rock crushers, and packaging/palletizing machinery.
• Conduct structural repairs and welding as necessary on facility infrastructure.
3. Documentation & Operational Support
• Complete detailed daily work orders, inspection checklists, and maintenance logs
• Track parts usage, report labor hours, and maintain equipment service histories
• Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Ensure all paperwork complies with MSHA/OSHA safety and reporting standards
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Perform any job assigned by management.

• High school diploma or GED; technical degree in Diesel Mechanics or Industrial Maintenance preferred
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment or industrial mechanic
• Ability to read technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and blueprints
• Proficient in basic mathematics for fluid calculations and technical measurements
Physical Demands:
The physical demands outlined below are essential for an employee to effectively perform the fundamental aspects of this job:
• Environment: Ability to work in both surface processing plants and underground mining environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and confined spaces
• Physical: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and navigate uneven terrain
• Safety: Ability to pass required vision and hearing screenings and consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Training:
Employees are to participate in all required training. Employees are to keep all their training current and up to date.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and three to five years of related experience and/or training.
