Behavioral Health Technician

Purpose Statement:
Recovery in Motion is a dedicated team of motivated individuals who work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective substance use disorder treatment services.

• 95% compliance with documentation/charting
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Set priorities in monitoring clients, making house rounds, documentation of pertinent information, and completion of other assignments
• Regularly check company emails and the program calendar
• Maintain current knowledge of program and client activities
• Be available to clients for questions and other assistance
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the program’s philosophy, policies, and procedures, 245G requirements, program operations, and client rights and confidentiality
• Assist with completion of intake/admission procedures and orientation of new clients
• Serve as a positive role model for clients
• Participate in program activities with a positive attitude
• Administer client medications and document accordingly
• Complete thorough, objective, and accurate documentation
• Utilize decision making skills while exhibiting good judgment and realistic understanding of issues
• Set healthy boundaries with clients and coworkers
• Complete program laundry
• Assist in food preparation and program cleaning duties
• Adhere to the attendance and absence policies
• Maintain punctuality in reporting for work
• Participate in rotational schedule, related to shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Provide transportation to clients for appointments, intake, and discharge
• Ensure client safety while providing transportation
• Ensure company vehicles are cleaned after usage
• Remain responsible for company credit card and receipts, when applicable
• All other duties, as assigned
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum Requirements):
• Must be 18 years old
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Complete background study
• Know and understand the implications of Minnesota Statutes, sections 245G.01 through 245G.22, 245A.65, 260E, 626.557, and 626.5572 and willingness to understand, learn, and carry out regulations with integrity
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 30 days of employment
• Must have a valid MN driver’s license
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the position which include, bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting at least 30 pounds.
• Be highly dependable; able to work independently
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred):
• Previous experience in human services and/or healthcare environment as related to position responsibilities.
• Direct client care experience with chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation.
