About this role
Nyobolt is seeking a Senior Li-Ion Cell Engineer to lead sustaining engineering activities for Li-ion cells in continuous production. This role is critical in ensuring product quality, reliability, and ongoing process improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Cell Sustaining Engineering to support Li-ion cells in continuous production environments.
• Own and drive change management processes, including reviewing and approving or rejecting changes to BOM, cell design, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to analyse process yields, production trends, and EOL/in-process quality data, developing and implementing improvement plans.
• Lead or support root cause analysis for field failures, production quality issues, and validation challenges, including directing testing, teardown analysis, and material/component investigations.
• Develop, maintain, and update Design FMEAs (DFMEA).
• Support manufacturing teams in the development and continuous improvement of Process FMEAs (PFMEA).
• Support material and component sourcing strategies, including second sourcing, qualification, and validation activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation for cell design, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
Qualifications
• 5+ years’ experience in product design, development, or manufacturing support.
• Experience in Li-ion cell design, development, or production is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in a sustaining engineering role, ideally supporting high-volume Li-ion cell production and product transfer from development to manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Li-ion cell design, performance, and manufacturing processes, including FMEA methodologies.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on, data-driven analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and results-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
