Role Description
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of production equipment maintenance in the production plant. The technician is responsible to maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot equipment in production areas.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Support production lines by troubleshooting and correcting failures
• Maintain adherence to preventative maintenance protocol
• Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely manner
• Be able to rebuild and overhaul all production equipment
• Ensure spare parts are checked out of parts cages
• Communicate with area leads, supervisors, and managers
• Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance staff through End of Shift reports
• Support our continuous improvement manufacturing process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Follow established safety, quality and environmental policies, practices, and programs
• Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds/repairs/maintenance.
• Maintain tools according to 5S methodology
• Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply chain process initiatives and improvement
• Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards
Experience Requirements:
• 2+ years of maintenance experience
• Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Hydraulic and pneumatics maintenance
• Ability to read schematics
• Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
• Must be able to learn and fully operate assigned production equipment; a variety of skills needed: Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Welding, Fabrication, docks and doors, security systems
• Experience in Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) and safety regulations, technical experience in machine mechanics and equipment troubleshooting
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, team-focused and with the ability to hold others accountable
Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent degree/certificate
• Trade School certified preferred
