Job Summary Synechron is seeking an MTS Technical Consultant to support the design, configuration, enhancement, migration, testing, and production support of payment solutions built on the ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) platform. The role focuses on translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions, configuration specifications, and delivery documentation to support reliable payment processing and modernization initiatives.
Software Requirements Required
• ACI Money Transfer System (MTS): Strong hands-on configuration, customization, troubleshooting, and support experience
• Linux / Unix / AIX: Hands-on experience
• ENTIA, Oracle, IBM MQ: Working experience
• Payment Formats: SWIFT MT, SWIFT MX, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHIPS, Fedwire
Preferred
• Git or equivalent version control tools
• Release management and deployment governance exposure
• Performance testing, resiliency testing, and post-implementation stabilization support
Overall Responsibilities
• Lead and support MTS customization, enhancement, migration, upgrade, and implementation activities
• Configure MTS routing, queues, workflows, and message processing
• Translate requirements into technical designs, configuration specifications, and implementation plans
• Support ISO 20022 and payment modernization initiatives
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and validate fixes
• Support environment setup, releases, deployments, and test activities
• Prepare technical and support documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and support teams
Technical Skills Programming Languages Preferred: Scripting exposure for support or automation
Databases/Data Management Required: ENTIA, Oracle, payment data handling, test data support Preferred: Data validation and migration support
Frameworks and Libraries Required: MTS platform expertise Development Tools and Methodologies Required: ACI MTS, Linux, Unix, AIX, configuration management, testing support, migration support, release coordination Preferred: Git, deployment governance, performance testing, resiliency testing
Security Protocols Required: Ability to work within controlled banking technology and release environments Preferred: Exposure to secure payment processing practices
Experience Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in payments technology, banking applications, or financial services technology delivery
• Strong hands-on experience with ACI MTS
• In-depth understanding of payment processing and payment message flows
• Working knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHIPS, and Fedwire
• Experience with Linux, Unix, or AIX
• Experience with ENTIA, Oracle, and IBM MQ
Day-to-Day Activities
• Configure and support MTS components
• Prepare technical designs and configuration documents
• Support migration, upgrade, implementation, and production activities
• Troubleshoot issues and validate resolutions
• Assist with environment setup, test support, releases, and deployments
• Maintain technical documentation and support materials
• Collaborate across business, technical, and support teams
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Equivalent relevant experience in payments technology may also be considered
• Relevant certifications are preferred but not required
