Long-Lewis of Hoover is looking for an Automotive Detail Technician who's ready to grow, perform advanced diagnostics, and be part of a strong, customer-focused service department.
What You'll Do
• Perform accurate vehicle diagnostics including check engine lights, drivability issues, warning indicators, and electrical problems.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance, but primarily diagnose on all makes and models—everything from brake jobs to suspension work and basic services.
• Use diagnostic tools (scan tools, multimeters, etc.) to identify issues and recommend proper repair procedures.
• Collaborate with service advisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and clear communication.
• Document all work performed and findings accurately and thoroughly.
• Adhere to safety and manufacturer repair guidelines.
• Keep your workspace organized and tools maintained.
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of professional technician experience in a dealership or high-volume shop.
• Master Technician Certification required.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and interpreting codes.
• ASE certifications a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Pay & Benefits
• Flat Hour Rate (FHR): $50–$60/hour, based on experience & certifications
• Monday–Friday Schedule – No Weekends
