We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating heavy equipment and a strong understanding of construction site operations.
The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 1 kilometre of roadway infrastructure, installation of underground water and sewer utilities, and on-site aggregate crushing operations to supply required construction materials
Rotation & Travel Details:
• Rotation Schedule: 20 days on / 10 days off
• Flights provided from Thunder Bay
• Accommodations provided
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to complete tasks such as digging around utilities and live lines, grading, trenching, and backfilling
• Collaborate with site supervisors, laborers, and other operators to ensure work meets project specifications and timelines
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and optimal operation
• Follow all site-specific and company-wide safety protocols and procedures
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and promptly report any issues to supervisors
• Adapt to various site conditions, including weather and terrain, while maintaining productivity
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proficient in operating heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and bulldozers
• Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues
• Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and interpret project plans
• Skilled in using GPS technology and machine control systems for precision grading and layout
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in civil or heavy construction is preferred
• A valid operator’s license or equipment certification may be required depending on local regulations
