About this role
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
• Supervise subordinates in the gypsum production process to ensure production standards are met or exceeded and improve productivity through more efficient use of personnel, raw materials, equipment, and process.
• Supervise the production of quality products that meet Company requirements.
• Responsible for plant operations and security of the facility when plant supervision is not at the plant.
• Identify and correct immediate maintenance problems, in the absence of the maintenance supervisor, that effect productivity and quality of products.
• Communicate with plant personnel through accurate and thorough recording of shift activities to assist other personnel in evaluating quality, process, maintenance, and personnel problems.
• Motivate personnel in a manner that effectively promotes good morale, housekeeping, and high productivity.
• Ensure a safe working environment through effective safety training, safety regulations enforcement and safety inspections.
• Coordinate training of all shift personnel to maintain safety, product quality, and maximize productivity.
• Responsible for accurate SAP production reporting and raw material inventories.
• Responsible for administering plant work rules and attendance disciplinary policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Computer skills and working knowledge of SAP, preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Gypsum process and mechanical operations preferred.
• At least 3-5 years' Gypsum plant experience.
• Excellent supervisory and communication skills.
• Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of Safety Plus
• Willing to actively participate and promote a team environment.
• Flexible work schedule.
• Priority emphasis placed on safety.
• Ability to enforce all plant safety and productivity goals, including plant policies/procedures.
• Willingness and ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, sometimes involving high stress situations.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.
