About this role
The Deputy Sheriff is responsible for protecting life and property, preventing crime, apprehending offenders, and enforcing State and Federal law and local ordinances through routine patrol, investigation, and traffic regulation. This position must become proficient in patrol duties; assignments may also include investigation, civil process, court security, K9, drug taskforce, mobile field force, boat and water, and emergency response. The Deputy Sheriff supports and engages with the community and upholds the Sheriff’s Office mission to protect and serve in a professional, efficient manner.
