About this role
Overview
The Apostolos Leadership Residency is a hands-on leadership development experience designed to identify, form, and send emerging leaders into meaningful ministry. Residents will be immersed in a healthy church environment where they will grow spiritually, develop leadership capacity, and gain real-world ministry experience.
This residency is built for individuals who sense a calling to ministry and are ready to be stretched, equipped, and deployed.
Purpose of the Residency
To develop leaders who are:
• Spiritually formed (deepening their relationship with Jesus)
• Practically equipped (able to lead in real ministry environments)
• Missionally sent (ready to serve where God calls them)
Core Components
1. Spiritual Formation
• Develop a consistent life with God (Scripture, prayer, rhythms)
• Participate in guided spiritual formation environments
• Engage in personal reflection and growth practices
• Receive pastoral care and mentorship
2. Leadership Development
• Participate in structured leadership training
• Learn principles of healthy church culture
• Develop communication, decision-making, and team leadership skills
• Build a personal leadership philosophy
3. Real-World Ministry Experience
• Serve in a specific ministry area under a Ministry Mentor
• Lead teams, environments, or initiatives
• Execute ministry assignments including:
• Leading a team meeting
• Recruiting and developing volunteers
• Teaching or leading devotionals
• Planning and executing a ministry event
• Designing ministry systems or processes
4. Coaching & Feedback
• Weekly check-ins with a Ministry Mentor
• Ongoing evaluation and developmental feedback
• Health tracking across key areas:
• Relational
• Physical
• Mental
• Spiritual (RPMS)
Key Responsibilities
• Fully engage in all residency environments and assignments
• Demonstrate initiative, ownership, and teachability
• Lead within assigned ministry area with excellence
• Build and invest in volunteer teams
• Participate in all required trainings, gatherings, and evaluations
• Maintain a posture of humility, growth, and alignment with church leadership
Qualifications
• Demonstrates a clear and growing faith in Jesus Christ
• Senses a calling toward ministry within the Church
• Teachable, humble, and willing to receive feedback
• Relationally healthy and able to work within teams
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
• Prior and consistent ministry involvement within the Church
• Participation in a Calling Lab/Discovery Weekend Experience
Time Commitment
• Part-Time or Full-Time pathways available
• Includes evenings and weekends (ministry environments)
• Participation in all scheduled residency gatherings and trainings is required
