About this role

At Mercy Housing, we are redefining affordable, low-income housing. As the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in the nation, we build, preserve, and manage program-enriched housing across the country.

The Maintenance Manager will provide hands-on maintenance and oversee vendor contracts for Clare Gardens, a 128-unit affordable property for area families in Denver, CO.

This is an on-site position. The idea candidate will have experience with NSPIRE inspections.

Pay: $27.00-29.00/hour, dependent on experience.

Duties

• Patch and paint walls, trim, and ceilings.

• Clean, repair, and maintain appliances.

• Prepare units for new residents, including completing necessary turnover work.

• Perform routine plumbing and electrical repairs.

• Manage day-to-day maintenance functions.

• Assist with maintenance budget oversight.

• Coordinate and manage vendor contracts in collaboration with the property management team.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Three (3) years of experience in skilled maintenance work.

• Technical expertise in one or more building trade.

• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications.

• Experience with NSPIRE inspections.

Knowledge and Skills

• Work in a collaborative manner and in a team environment. Define and solve problems.

• Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing. Present information to groups of people.

• Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.

• Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints. Draft make working sketches. Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.

• Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
