What You’ll Do
• Safely operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment to load, move, stockpile, and transport aggregate and recycled materials.
• Load customer trucks and trailers efficiently while ensuring product accuracy and quality.
• Maintain safe and organized stockpiles, haul roads, work areas, and yard conditions.
• Feed crushers, screeners, conveyors, and other processing equipment as required.
• Inspect equipment daily and complete pre-operational and post-operational checks.
• Report equipment defects, maintenance requirements, safety concerns, and operational issues promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies, site procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with site housekeeping, cleanup, and general facility maintenance.
• Work closely with plant operators, truck drivers, and other team members to support production targets.
• Monitor material inventory levels and assist with stockpile management.
• Sort, handle, and process recyclable materials in accordance with facility requirements.
• Support seasonal and weather-related site operations, including snow removal and road maintenance when required.
• Maintain accurate production, equipment, and operational records as directed.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
• 5+ years equipment operator experience
• Comfortable getting out of equipment and working on the ground as required
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Willing to work out of town as required
• Ability to work long hours, including some weekends and overtime
• Must comply with CAR's zero tolerance policy and complete the pre-employment drug & alcohol and fit testing
• Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with a crusher considered an asset
• The successful candidate is expected to actively labor and support the team as much as possible when not operating equipment
