About this role
Purpose
To support the project team in implementing the AHF WASH project particularly the rehabilitation and construction of water supply networks and latrines in four villages of Daman district and PD#9 of Kandahar city. Mercy Corps will hire four technical site supervisors to oversee the progress of construction works on the ground.
Targeted Areas:
Kandahar: Kandahar city and Daman district.
Note: Priority will be given to candidates from Kandahar City and Daman District.
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in WASH projects, specifically in the rehabilitation or new construction of water supply networks and latrines.
• Familiarity with engineering tools, equipment, and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) related to water supply networks and latrines.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering concepts, especially those related to water supply systems.
• In-depth understanding of field operations for the construction of water supply networks and latrines.
• Knowledge of WASH standards and best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with both skilled and unskilled workers, as well as technical teams from the organization or suppliers, while effectively supervising construction progress.
• Awareness of the local culture and social dynamics within the target communities.
• Understanding of humanitarian principles and minimum standards.
