About this role
Purpose The Community Hygiene Promotion Worker will be responsible for delivering hygiene awareness sessions and promoting improved hygiene practices in targeted communities. They will play a key role in reducing the risk of waterborne and hygiene related diseases by fostering positive behavior change and engaging with diverse community members effectively.
Education: 1- Bachelor's degree in community health, public health, social science or related field with one year experience in WASH activities. 2- Or certificate with at least two years direct experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene practices particularly community hygiene and sanitation. Years of Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in the WASH program and healthcare sector for those with bachelor's degree. And/or a minimum of two years' direct experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene practices, particularly community hygiene and sanitation is required. A hygiene worker should have strong communication, community engagement skills, he/she shall have proper knowledge of cultural sensitivity, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, adaptability, knowledge of WASH interventions and a commitment to improving community health through standard hygiene practices. Responsibilities: • Facilitate and conduct hygiene promotion training sessions under the supervision of the CM/HP Assistant. • Assess training needs and plan hygiene and sanitation training for the target population. • Establish sustainable systems and provide necessary training for long-term hygiene promotion. • Conduct regular site visits to deliver hygiene and sanitation awareness campaigns. • Prepare and submit work plans and reports on time. Scope of Work • Coordinate activities with community elders, CDCs, and other local stakeholders. • Monitor program activities and recommend improvements to the CM/HP Assistant. • Provide feedback to community members and elders. • Document and share lessons learned, success stories, and best practices. • Perform other tasks as assigned by the CM/HP Assistant.
