Clinical Practice Provide full-spectrum family medicine care with a strong emphasis on education:
Outpatient & Continuity Clinic
• Precept and supervise residents and medical students in the Family Medicine Center
• Maintain your own continuity patient panel
• Acute, chronic, and preventive care across all age groups
• Opportunities for outpatient procedures (depending on interest)
Inpatient & Special Settings
• Inpatient family medicine service and/or newborn nursery (based on program needs)
• Collaboration with residents on hospital rounds and admissions
Patient Population Broad-spectrum family medicine across the lifespan, including:
• Pediatric and adolescent care
• Adult chronic disease management
• Women's health and prenatal care
• Geriatric care
• Acute illness and minor procedures
Academic & Faculty Role Play a foundational role in developing the next generation of family physicians:
• Provide direct clinical supervision and bedside teaching
• Deliver didactic sessions, workshops, simulation training, and scholarly activities
• Participate in curriculum development and competency-based education
• Mentor residents on individualized learning plans, evaluations, and milestone progression
• Support resident recruitment, orientation, and faculty development
• Contribute to program administration, committees, and accreditation readiness
• Opportunities for academic appointment and scholarly work
