About this role
Main Accountabilities:
• Complete all required export documentation for international shipments.
• Request and provide quote and spot rate quotes as required
• File export declarations through CERS
• Prepare and issue air waybills (MAWB/HAWB).
• Ensure all required documents are on hand and compliant with Canadian regulations prior to shipping.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian aviation security regulations, including CATSA requirements and Transport Canada security programs.
• Track shipments daily and proactively notify customers of uplifts, delays, or offloads with complete details.
• Check in and process Dangerous Goods (DG) cargo in accordance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Complete costing for each shipment file and generate invoices.
• Respond promptly to emails from customers and overseas agents.
• Make bookings with airlines and coordinate trucking for cargo pick-up and delivery.
• Answer phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, air export operations, or international logistics preferred.
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of international air freight documentation, including air waybills and Canadian export reporting requirements (CERS).
• Familiarity with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations is an asset (DG certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience using freight forwarding or cargo management systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
