About this role
Sets up vaginal delivery tables; prepares supplies, instruments and equipment for deliveries and surgical procedures; opens sterile supplies, sets up the operating room (OR) for cesarean sections and performs scrub duties; labels and prepares specimens for pathology. Supports the licensed nurses by assuming responsibility for direct and indirect patient care, such as assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort measures, and maintenance of a safe and clean environment, in an effort to provide optimum patient outcome and efficiencies to flow; charges supplies accurately. Collects patient data such as vital signs, weights, input and output, and pain score then identifies and reports significant findings to the licensed nurse.
