Develops, trains and retains qualified and competent staff; schedules and supervises the activity of personnel both intra- and inter-departmentally; dictates, assists with, and implements department policies and procedures; assures departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements including all standards for accrediting body, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), etc., and actively supports survey initiatives; supports Director in developing processes to improve overall customer satisfaction; creates and maintains a successful work environment; assists with training of students from various colleges and technical schools.
