About this role

Join our collaborative, patient-centered team at Memorial Health, where your skills will help restore lives and empower recovery.

What You'll Do As an Occupational Therapist at Memorial Health, you will:

• Review and evaluate outpatients and inpatients referred to Occupational Therapy by physicians.

• Perform diagnostic tests, measurements, and evaluations.

• Develop personalized care plans with short- and long-term goals.

• Communicate treatment needs to patients and families, fostering cooperation and engagement.

• Administer Occupational therapy treatment techniques to restore patient body functions, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.

• Record evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in medical records.

• Direct patient care activities of Occupational Therapist Assistants, student clinical affiliates, and volunteers.

• Participate in training programs for other Allied Health departments in the hospital.

• Assist with completion of special projects as required or assigned.

• Supervise activities in Therapy and Rehabilitation in absence of Director.

• Provide at-home treatment instructions when needed.

• Educate patients in the use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices.

• Collaborate actively with the healthcare team to coordinate care.

• Develops and demonstrates knowledge of current advances in Occupational Therapy to maintain professional competency through literature review, peer review, and/or continuing education.

Other Requirements

• Consistent, reliable attendance

• Completion of mandatory training, health requirements, and in-services (team training, safety, infection control, etc.)

• Compliance with hospital and departmental Ethics and Compliance programs, including promptly reporting variances through the proper channels

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program of study

• Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Ohio. Attains American Heart Association BLS certification within six (6) months of employment and maintains continuous certification.
