About this role
Under the supervision of the Chief and Deputy Fire Chief, the incumbent is responsible for enforcing federal, state and tribal mandated fire safety laws and codes. High School Diploma or General Education (GED). One, to three years’ experience as a certified fire inspector required and a CT Fire Marshall Certification required within one year. Connecticut Licenses and Certifications: CT, EMT/NREMT, FF-2, CDL or Q Driver’s license, or other states equivalent. Candidate must obtain necessary certifications; Fire Inspector, Fire Service Instructor, Incident Command, Safety Officer, within one year. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, and Have a current Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) or pass the fire departments physical agility test within one year.
