About this role
A Kinship Specialist assists kinship caregivers with the certification process of their home in order to be in compliance with DCFS (Department of Children & Families) policies. A Kinship Specialist is a member of a team under the direction of a Kinship Supervisor and is responsible for certifying and supporting kinship caregivers as they care for children in their homes. The primary goals for kinship support include; improving kinship caregiver’s access to information and resources, increasing placement stability and permanency, increasing kinship caregiver satisfaction, and ensuring kinship caregivers are trained and able to provide trauma informed parenting.
