About this role
Lee Industrial Contracting, a 100% employee-owned company in Pontiac, MI, is seeking a Structural CAD Designer to support industrial construction and fabrication projects through 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and project detailing.
Responsibilities
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models from project concepts and customer requirements
• Collaborate with customers, estimators, and project teams to develop practical design solutions
• Produce fabrication and construction drawings, material take-offs, and shop details
• Interpret structural, mechanical, and technical drawings
• Conduct occasional site visits to gather dimensions and verify project requirements
• Support fabrication processes and drawing revisions
Qualifications
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SDS2, Tekla, Inventor, Revit, or similar CAD software
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience in drafting, detailing, design, fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or engineering support preferred
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
