About this role
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take a leading role in the development of innovative mechanical solutions for R&D and R&T programmes. You will ensure designs are technically robust, meet customer requirements and align with key business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the definition and delivery of mechanical design solutions for new product developmentReview and approve design work produced by Product Engineers across the teamSupport or own one or more Engineering Work Packages for mechanical design activitiesProvide technical supervision to a multidisciplinary team including Stress & Thermal, Supply Chain, Industrialisation, V&V, Configuration and QualityAct as the technical reporting point for Product Engineers within allocated work packagesEnsure solutions meet Design for Manufacture/Assembly and Design to Cost requirementsContribute to continuous improvement across design processes and engineering governance
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similarExperience delivering mechanical design in a complex engineering or manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of full product lifecycle and engineering governanceAbility to lead reviews and provide constructive technical guidance to peersKnowledge of design standards and manufacturing processesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills Why join us?
