About this role
Performs skilled repairs and maintenance of buses and other mechanical equipment of the transit department. This includes emergency repairs, regular and periodic inspection, and maintenance procedures to reduce frequency of repairs and lower the cost of operation and maintenance. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild engine components, transmissions, drive trains, suspensions, cooling systems, electrical/electronic systems, fuel systems, hydraulic or air brake systems, steering, or exhaust systems.
