Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
• Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
• Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
• Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
• Participate in departmental and/or hospital wide committees or task forces
• Participate in and support departmental and organizational change and provides suggestions
• Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values
Required Skills/Abilities
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
• 2 or more years nursing experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• American Heart Association BLS
• PALS certification
• Competent in Windows OS and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• EPIC experience required
