Bundles of Hope (BOH) is a ministry of Hope Children's Home created to offer a fourth choice to women facing crisis pregnancies. In partnership with Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs), BOH provides a loving and stable environment where infants can be cared for while their mothers receive the support and time, they need to rebuild their lives.
The vision of Bundles of Hope aligns fully with Hope Children's Home: "To love children in need and equip them for the future." BOH expands this vision by focusing on restoring the beginning of life and ensuring every baby entrusted to our care begins life surrounded by safety, prayer, and hope.
Position Overview
The Cottage Parent is responsible for providing a safe, loving, Christ-centered home for infants and toddlers (birth through age two) who have been placed in the Bundles of Hope program. The primary goal of the program is reunification with the child's family whenever possible.
This is a live-in residential position that functions similarly to foster parenting. The Cottage Parent becomes the primary caregiver for the children placed in her cottage, meeting their physical, emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs in a family-style environment.
While married couples live together in the cottage, Bundles of Hope is hiring the wife as the Cottage Parent. The husband serves as a supportive member of the household but is not considered the primary caregiver or employee in this role unless otherwise designated by the organization.
Because children reside in the home full-time, this position is not structured like a traditional job with scheduled shifts or regular days off. The Cottage Parent provides ongoing care and supervision as needed, much like a foster parent caring for children placed in their home. Relief care, appointments, and approved time away will be coordinated through Bundles of Hope.
The impact of the Cottage Parent extends far beyond a child's time in the program. By providing consistent love, stability, and Christ-centered care during a critical stage of development, the Cottage Parent helps create lasting, generational change.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide nurturing, around-the-clock care for up to four infants and toddlers.
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and Christ-centered home environment.
• Meet the physical, emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs of each child.
• Coordinate and attend medical, developmental, and other necessary appointments.
• Maintain daily records and submit required weekly reports.
• Facilitate supervised visits and interactions with biological family members as directed.
• Maintain the cottage in accordance with organizational standards.
• Work cooperatively with Bundles of Hope staff, social workers, medical providers, and partner agencies.
• Comply with all FACCCA licensing requirements, policies, and training requirements.
• Support each child's individualized reunification or permanency plan.
Qualifications
Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of experience working with children in a caregiving, childcare, educational, or developmental leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to provide consistent, nurturing care in a residential setting.
• Ability to pass extensive background screenings.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong Christian testimony and agreement with the mission and values of Hope Children's Home and Bundles of Hope.
• If married, must demonstrate a stable and healthy marriage capable of supporting a live-in ministry lifestyle.
Preferred
• College degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field.
• Experience caring for infants and toddlers.
• Foster parenting, childcare, nursery, pediatric, or residential care experience.
• Infant and Toddler Specialist certification.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Live-in residential position with housing and utilities provided.
• Must be capable of providing care for infants and toddlers throughout the day and night as needed.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
• Must pass a physical examination required for childcare licensing standards.
• Must be capable of safely transporting children and attending appointments as needed.
