About this role
We are seeking entry-level Laboratory Technicians to join our Auckland Microbiology and Agro Testing Departments, with permanent full-time roles available.
Full-time positions will include working a Monday to Friday afternoon/evening roster (Microbiology), or a Monday to Friday morning roster (Agro Testing) on an ongoing basis in most instances.
The core functions of the roles we have available are to assist in the daily operation of our Microbiology / Agro Testing departments. These functions include working in the test processing areas to receive and carry out accurate analysis of food / dairy / meat / environmental, or soil / plant / fertiliser samples as required by our customers and accreditation bodies.
Dependent on the role, key duties may include:-
To process and test samples without error, and within allowable time & temperature holding time requirementsTo store and maintain inventory of samples after testing, preserving sample integrityTo maintain good lab practice at all times, to ensure the highest quality service to our customersTo operate in accordance with the company's Quality and Procedures manuals and to comply to the company's various accreditationsTo keep the lab and equipment in a good physical condition at all timesTo maintain a positive, professional and safe working environment, being mindful of the company’s Health and Safety proceduresTo be willing to work on continuous improvement initiatives Tertiary qualification in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience is preferred (for Microbiology role), or this role is potentially suitable for students still studying on a part-time basis.
