About this role
• Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Design and develop electrical control systems for oil and gas downhole tools and surface control systems.
• Design magnetic devices (transformers, inductors) for downhole applications.
• PCB/PCA layout using Altium.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for oil and gas systems integration.
• Work on troubleshooting production test equipment.
• Support manufacturing production lines with tool performance and testing.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting/repair of electrical equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Education and Training:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with electrical design (analog and digital circuits) and control systems.
• Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• General Requirements / Technical Requirements & Skills:
• Electrical Systems design.
• Experience with embedded firmware (using C and assembly) for Microchip product suite.
• Experience with hardware simulation tools (power and signal integrity, electromagnetics, thermal management, etc).
• Experience with Matlab and LabView.
• Altium or similar PCB design experience.
• Ability to apply basic soldering (SMT and thru-hole).
• Version Control using GitHub.
• Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
• Must have a valid driver's license and record that conforms to the Company's insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State regulations.
